CPCA Referees

Across Canada, over 40 Official Referees are certified by CPCA to insure that all sanctioned tournaments are conducted in accordance with the rules.  Host clubs are required to have a CPCA Certified Official Referee present during sanctioned events.  These volunteers insure that CPCA Rules are properly interpreted and applied.  In addition, it is the role of the Official Referee to score challenged targets and rule on all Protests and Challenges.

Referees are CPCA members (21 or older) who volunteer their time and services to perform this very important function.  Certification involves writing the Referee Exam and attaining an 80% or higher grade.   The Referee-in-Chief is the final judge on applicant eligibility and acceptability.

Those who attain certification are issued Referee Identification Cards and must be "active" during the year in order to maintain their "Certified" status.  Certifications are reviewed annually.
